new car

no i do not have it yet, i did make an appointment to look at a Honda FIT. will that be my new car? i miss my CR-V. and need a car at least tall enough to get up my curb. i think i will go with the red color it my be the best color choice that is available the copper looked palid on the one i saw today and i am not sure what i can tell on the pictures that were posted online. the red stood out but maybe the berry, i have to see the true color to choose.

on to my knitting, my Octavia top is coming together it is not fighting me anymore or i am not fighting it i don't know. i am getting tired of the pink but then i am drawn to pink right now and that in itself is disturbing to me as i despise the color.

car trouble

Yesterday i was in an accident. I was going to work, and the check engine light came on so stupid me i glance down then boom hit with airbag car stopped and my car is kissing another. I was stunned, shaky, could barely think, patted the airbag a couple of times. I heard someone say are you ok? but i could not think to respond. I finally got my cell out and called work to let them know i was in an accident, then called Mom.

I glanced up and saw a family standing at the corner watching, i think it was the passengers of the other car. I reached for the glove box to get my insurance papers, so i could give the people the info and try to call the insurance company. i hung up since i could not concentrate. at that time the Fire Marshall pulled up to find out what happened, and told me to not try to get out of the car. i had just slid my legs out, he got into the back seat and started to prob my neck, then held my head in place until the ambulance got there.

They put a collar on my neck and put me on a back board. I stayed on that board for at least 5 hours. xray and catscan and even a shot of morphin. just laying there doing nothing for 5 hours except feeling my neck and back hurt.

Today i am home waiting for my mom so we can go get a property release form so my car can be picked up from the towyard and the insurance adjuster can look it over. i like my car and i do not want to say good bye to it. and i wait to see my doctors

...and soon there will be roses

My order has been delayed, my pretty roses are not yet ready to ship. Guess I should be happy that I have more time to get pots and such for the young plants. So while waiting I am playing with the computer and find a sale on roses, that will be discontinued so my order there is for 6 plus alternates just in case.

I have know idea why I like old garden roses, albas, bourbons, musks, and species. I even have some giganteas on order.

So now while I wait I knit, and groom the cats. my knitting right now is without a pattern but is a tribute to one of my lost kitties. I was not happy with it and had to frog it back, i think the problem was the needle being used. the yarn is a Debbie Bliss Donegal tweed and was too slippery for metal needles i am now using wooden circulars. I lost about a weeks worth of knitting and not happy about that but at least now i wont have the very obviously fixed dropped stitches.

I sound like a crazy old spinster-cat-lady knitting in her Victorian garden.

bathing cats

today it was finally warm enough to bathe my Isolde. at 14 i do not want her to chill. I could put if off no longer the babies are developing static in their fur. poor Robbie is going insane with the shocks but now i know why he is chewing the hell out of himself. I did not get to give him a bath though he was staying out of grasp. so i will have to trick him and hopefully get him in water without dealing with kitty levitation, or it is to the groomers and lion cut. LuLu was suprisingly good about the bath, she was not happy but she let me wash her.

gardens

i have planning my garden today. i have roses coming in from roses unlimited in S.C. , I had order 5 roses and can't wait they will be shipped out on the 10 th. still cannot find the Octavia Hill rose but i think i found something very similar. Mystic beauty. the two look so similar that i suspect they are the same rose with different names. but that one is not available till May. So while waiting i am searching for the right containers to put them in. I plan to move with my plants may take a few trips but they go with me and the cats when you invest this much time and money into something its hard to leave behind unless there is no choice.

my selection is Amy Johnston, Sydonie, Louise Clements, Kitty Kinnimounth, and the Gabrielle Privat. they will join my Belle of Portugal climbing Royal sunset, Abrahms Darby and sundry mystery roses. i am even going to attempt to germinate seed- that should be a challenge.

Originally my plan was to create a Biblical bonsai garden, with a rose garden dedicated to Mary mother of Jesus. since i am not an expert in bonsai and only have had 2 years of horticulture i am only a novice, but i love the experimentation. i will be training some prunus that i bought some years ago. the trunks are about the right thickness for what i am planning. and since i doubt that they will ever fruit it is no great loss as a tree if i fail, not that that will happen I have faith.

the beginning

a bit about me, first i am a sucker for cats. it started with researching what type of cat would be right for my friend. guess what i have the cat. She is a beautiful blue point Siamese and now 14.

When she lost her brother i got suckered into housing a cat until the recue group could fit him in, of course the rescue group knew nothing about this. i wish i had more pictures of Puma, Isolde had just gotten used to him when he went missing, at this time i was going in for surgery and she Isolde was left lonely.

while i was recovering i was on wendyknits.net and followed a link to petfinders.com, and ended up adopting 2 kitties both male one older and one still a kitten, i had been told Kinji was good with kittens but he would not play with 'Bastien, groom him yes, cuddle yes, play --somewhere else. Since 'Bastien needed a playmate i went back to the group and let the kittens choose. this is how i ended up with Lusitania. Lusitania was 'Bastiens littermate. and since everthing happens in 3's, i lost 'Bastien. He was a FIP kitty i had him almst a month and had to have him put down. I had kept the group informed of everything that had been happening, and they gave me a replacement kitty, this would be my Robert E Leeroy- my little ROCKSTAR.

when i returned to work, discovered a cat that had been abandoned there, apparently someone discovered pets need medical attention too, and it can be expensive. so the dropped the cat in a field to fend for itself with feet so inflamed it could barely walk, He became my Dash, after i got him home. to hopefully adopt out after he recovered i found out that a neighborhood cat Back seat Betty had kittens. the kittens were about 4 months old and covered in mange all three plus mom looked like a Gieger nightmare. they were treated and spade the mother escaped. One got adopted fast, one did not socialise- I call her Lakota, and the third Gabrielli had a bad reaction to the meds it caused her skip to blister after a year she still has a bald spot between her shoulder blades.

I started joking about 'The House of 13 Cats' after the gothic film 'HOUSE OF 13 GHOSTS', be careful what you ask for or joke about. enter Octavia, she should up where i work the victim of a drive by toss. a blue and white ragdoll kitten maybe 5 wks old, i did not have her long maybe a year. the kittens were called the little grey girls or the black hearts club. and were spade together. at this point there were 8 little furbabies and i am still trying to recatch Betty to get her fixed, and noticing just how many cats are in the area. one cat scared the stuff out of me i thought it was a raccoon under my car- no just a cat that had to be at least 33 lbs. this cat showed up for a while then brought 2 smaller versions, one of which stayed behind it took a while to get Mikael to walk into the trap, he was very sick, he had a bad cough, so i took him to my vet in the trap, Mkael was an angel, almost 9 lbs and mayby 6 mos old, i still wonder who lost their cats, after he got better and neutered i let him play with the other cats, thinking he would find his way back home - he never left, and no one recognized him the Large cat was no longer around.

I caught another queen, got her into the TNR program, still trying to catch Betty who shows up for food and treats. and to check on her babies. Finally, after months and knowing that she is pregnant again i caught her, she did not look as big as she had, i thought she had her babies but i was not going to release her i put her in the cage in the sewing room, and went looking and letting everyone be aware of possible day old kittens hiding somewhere. i searched for 2 days while trying to schedule Betty's surgery, then on March 7th, i stopped looking. i found the babies, Betty had not had them yet. 3 little kittens one without mittens. 1 black, 1 blond, 1tux like mommy.

Betty again got passed me when her babies were 5 weeks old. She had gone back into heat before i could get her in, but this time i had really good bait to get her back I had her litter! after she had her fun she came dancing back into the house, and i had her, and i had her scheduled, her pregnancy was terminated.

The count now is 13 cats.

since that point, Betty has returned to the outside world, i let her choose but i still feed her.(when i move i will try to catch her),Octavia i lost, and i heard that Lusitania's other littermate her mirror twin died, FIP again LuLu was the only survivor of her Litter. of the 3 kittens i finally adopted one out, the smallest female Kathleen. I am still looking for a home for Moira and Patrick.
