Finally, i have caught the little Siamese kitten that has been running around.
3 weeks ago i became aware of a little white kitten, i had been told that there were 2 of them but i have only seen one, so i can only believe that the sibling died as well as the mother. i really hate the colony that is not that far from my house i thought that it was under control, that i had all the Queens spayed and i could relax! no some more were dumped and then the car lot closed and that colony has moved into this area. also their is an intact male Siamese being allowed to wander.
So tonight was kinda funny. after all this time of stalking the kitten, setting traps that have been tripped by the wrong cat, i have the kitten in a squirrel trap sitting over a litter box. and my crew let me know that i had trapped something. Mikael came in which is very unusual and Dash kept pulling on the door i had thought he wanted in but he kept going to the middle of the patio so i finally came out and heard the howl.
It was such a horrible sound i was not sure what was in the trap. it almost sounded like a dog that had been debarked. then i lifted the towel and saw this opossum white/grey wiry fur and thought great a rat. but no it was the kitten and i am sooo 'not' looking forward to socialising it at the moment. so in the morning i will build its cage and get it out of the trap maybe discover the gender and get some pictures to post

Goodbye my Bettie
Today i have found out that my first feral TNR kitty was hit by a car.
Back Seat Bettie, Mother of all my problems is no longer with us, she was struck by a car traveling to fast.
She is survived by Gabrielli, Lakota, and Moira.

Kitten Season

We are well into kitten season, and i so need to get a new trap maybe more than one.
On tuesday i was trying to fix my trap. mine is old and does not always work--- so i am working on it and see my Rue (red tom) wandering around since i have been trying to catch him for over a year i set the trap baited with Ahi. Did i catch him ..... no! he walzed past and ignored the steak. being stupid i did not take down the trap and went to play with Robber 15 minutes into Da bird play i heard the cage snap.
Inside the cage was not Rue but instead one of the feral females i wanted to catch for a spay day that was already gone. I had baited the trap 3 times and she had danced in and out not tripping the trap. Lil miz Belly no longer had her belly and her nipples were distended so she has babies out there somewhere. i have a choice release her and never catch her again or try to get her in for an emergency spay and hopefully find her litter. Thank you, God. that Martin was able to help and there was a vet currently doing spays at the shelter. with warning that the vet was on a short clock and might not be able to get her in. when i got her back i waited then offered her kitten milk and tinned food. she was freed this morning after i gave her breakfat in the trap and she took off like a shot straight for the neighbors yard and hopefully her babies.
also this morning i scared a tiny seal point siamese kitten hiding by my garbage can. it is about 4 weeks old and looked to be fluffy. So i bleached out the trap and it is waiting not set. i want them to be comfortable eating in it to make it easier to trap them. i do not want them to be raised feral, i also want to catch Mini Fig who is about 9 mos now and Miz Bellys sibling.
So Let the Games Begin
